After more than 30 years of writing about topics ranging from\u00a0education and\u00a0sports to\u00a0music and social justice, I decided it was time to take\u00a0a shot at writing a blog.<\/p>\n
My blogging game plan is to keep my posts short and sweet–a lot like this introductory one. I intend to cover those subjects which both interest me and with which I have a decent amount of familiarity. And I want and need your feedback.<\/p>\n
In the upcoming weeks and months, I’ll be writing a good deal about the surprising\u2014and inspiring\u2014things that I\u2019ve discovered\u00a0as a result of\u00a0my recent research into my family history. Maybe it will inspire you to research your own family history\u2014if you haven\u2019t already.\u00a0The photos in my header are of\u00a0my great grandfather, Clarence Jackson,\u00a0and my great grandmother, Addie Wilkins Jackson, along with\u00a0my grandmother, great aunts and uncles,\u00a0mother and cousins. All of these\u00a0images are from the early to mid-1900s.<\/p>\n
